Underfloor heating can provide comfortable low temperature heat, but installation options differ significantly between a new floor build-up and an occupied home.
New builds offer the most flexibility
Pipe spacing, insulation and floor build-up can be designed together from the outset. This makes it easier to achieve even output at the low water temperatures used by heat pumps.
Retrofits need careful floor planning
Available floor height, existing finishes, insulation and room heat loss determine whether a low-profile or other retrofit system is suitable. The full floor build-up should be agreed before work begins.
